Roasters notes: It has been quite some time since I’ve had a natural Ethiopia on the menu – over a year now in fact. Natural Ethiopian coffees are nostalgic for many of us, and often regarded as the “gateway coffee” that sent us down the rabbit hole of specialty coffee.
However, the past couple of years I’ve mostly sampled and tasted naturals that taste like muddier versions of their washed counterparts – rather lackluster and missing that quintessential berry flavor that gets us excited. That is not the case with this coffee!
Viscous and bright with loads of berry flavors like strawberry and blueberry, this coffee transports me back to some of my first visits to specialty cafes; morning light pouring through the windows and that smell of bright coffees being brewed on Kalita’s. Super nostalgic coffee here folks, and I recommend a flat bottom brewer to bring out the blueberry yogurt sweetness that sets this coffee apart.
